Mass Shooting at Thai Daycare

A former policeman opened fire while children were sleeping at a daycare in northeastern Thailand yesterday, killing 34 people, at least 22 of those children. He also killed his wife and stepson before taking his own life.

Thailand is 89% Buddhist and home to 77 people groups still unreached with the gospel.

Lord, please heal the hearts and minds of the precious children who survived. Release them from the traumatic memories and comfort them with Your love. Please bring Christians to them to love them, their teachers and their family members, to counsel them and to share with them Your good news. Awaken Thailand to You, O God. Give every person a deep hunger for You, and make a way for all the unreached to hear the gospel in a way they can easily understand. Meet them in their dreams and give them visions inviting them out of darkness and into Your light. Put a Bible or tract in their hands, take them to Christian websites or use other means to show them Your way of salvation. Break the chains that bind them to demons and idol worship. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are and surrender to Your love. Draw them into loving churches grounded in truth. Use this terrible tragedy to bring families closer together, longing for a better, more meaningful way of life. Give them a hunger for You so deep they will seek You with all their hearts and find You. Awaken every heart to the unending measures of Your life-changing love and grace. And set them free, Lord, to know You, to love You, to enjoy You, and to spread Your love to the nations. In Your name. Amen.
