Lebanon, which has hosted more than a million refugees from the war in Syria, has been in deep financial crisis for three years. As a result, many desperate Lebanese families have joined Syrian and Palestinian refugees in search of asylum in Europe. Recently, a small boat carrying 150 refugees from Lebanon, Syria and Palestine capsized in the Mediterranean Sea, killing at least 94.
Lord, please comfort those who mourn the deaths of loved ones, and provide for those in need. Bless Christians in Lebanon abundantly and miraculously by Your hand so they will be able to also bless others abundantly. Open the doors of churches to feed the poor and offer counseling and more to those who are troubled. Make a way for aid to reach those who need it most, and for the banks to unfreeze accounts so families can buy food and other necessary provisions and send their children to school. Father, You know what needs to happen for this crisis to come to an end. Please give wisdom to decision-makers. But now, in the midst of hardship, give every person in Lebanon a deep hunger for You, so much so that they search for You with all their heart and find You. Meet the lost through dreams and visions. Connect them with Christians in their neighborhoods or on the internet. Put Bibles in their hands and make Your Word available across radio waves and on phones. Give the people a longing to know of Your salvation, and then answer them, Lord. Get the good news to them in a way they can easily understand. When they cry out to You in the midst of their troubles, hear them, O God. For You have a plan for those who seek You. A plan to give them a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11-14. So many Lebanese children see no future now, as school isn’t an option, farmland is drying up, and so many are going hungry. Please, Lord, make a way where there seems to be no way for the lost to find You and know the abundant life they were created for. John 10:10.
