Song for the Wayward One

Lord, for those who have wandered from Your felt presence, speak softly to us now, drawing us back to Yourself, like You did Your bride in Hosea 2:14-23. Remind us of our First Love. That we are Yours, and You are our Song, our True Meaning of Life, our All. Sing over us. We need to hear Your voice. Awaken us to Your love, like You did Your bride in Song of Songs. Even now, You’re speaking to us,

“Turn around. Step into Me. I am with you. Always have been. Always will be. I never left you. It is you who have wandered from My touch. What are you looking at with those hungry eyes, if it’s not Me? What holds your gaze that is more compelling to you than the life-changing power of My love? If you would but glance My way, oh, the joy I would flood your heart with, oh, the peace. Whatever you are looking for over there, I promise you will not find it. Not there. Not anywhere, but in Me. Turn around, dull eyes, and look at My Light. I will flood you and light up your life, if you would but turn to Me. Your eyes would be filled with My glory and you would no longer feel lost, empty or afraid. You would know the One who loves you, feel the burning fire of My passion, and it would glow in your eyes, too, flowing out of you to set others on fire as they turn to see the One you love. Stop looking somewhere else. Step into Me. For I am here with you, even now. Closer than your breath. Ready to rock your world with My touch.”

O God, let us hear Your voice now and draw near.
