O Lord, we are so in need of You. Hear our prayers, please, and forgive us. While we were busy with matters that are here today and gone tomorrow, idols have crept in and taken over our attention. We scroll through social media, wanting what we don’t have and begrudging those who have it. We worry about our future and that of our children, and our anxious thoughts spiral us into panic. We give in to our anger, our lust, our greed and overeating, and then wonder why they control us so. We have allowed the enemy to take us captive. Jesus, set us free. Have compassion on the ruined state of our nation, but most of all on our own hearts. Renew our faith, joy, praise, and thanksgiving by drawing us back to You. Transform the desert of our hearts to a place of growth and beauty, where streams of Your Living Water flow and we never thirst again. Give us and every person in our nation a longing for You so strong we will each turn from our sin, seek Your guidance, listen to You, pursue righteousness and step out into the fullness of Your calling on our lives. We ask You especially for our president and for every leader in government, businesses, schools, media, science, medicine, law enforcement, crime, the judiciary system and every other area of influence. Save the lost. Give them such a hunger for You they will lay down evil plans and surrender to Your love instead. Meet them in such powerful ways, they fall to their knees in fear of You and in repent. Then rebuild their hearts on Truth and Love. Replace greed with compassion. Pride with humility. Fear of man with faith in You. Murder with life. Lies with truth. Selfish gain with love. Man’s agendas with Heaven’s. Evil with good.
For too long, O Lord, we have been asleep while the enemy stole from us under cover of darkness. Awaken us now. Rise up and fight for this nation, for Your people and for those You are calling to Yourself. Raise up a new generation of leaders and influencers passionate for Your purposes, prayer warriors who seek You in every situation. And bring forth revival in this nation. May Your church come alive once more and millions turn to You to be saved. In Jesus’ name.
