Syrian Migrants Rescued from Island

The 38 living Syrian migrants (one child died of a scorpion sting), including seven children and a heavily pregnant woman, stranded on an unnamed island between Turkey and Greece since mid-July have been rescued and taken to Greece. All are in good condition, praise God.

Lord, we thank You for this rescue. Please, now, provide for their needs in beautiful ways like only You can. Bring Christians to them to love them and provide shelter, clothing, food and so much more. Empower Your people to share Your good news in a way the Syrians can easily understand. Give these and all refugees a hunger for You so deep that when they hear the truth about Jesus, they will open their hearts wide to receive Him as Savior. Take all the terrible evil the enemy has meant through war and violence, and turn it around for great good — the nations coming into Your kingdom and worshipping You with all their hearts. Wherever refugees are taken, may they encounter the Living God and the love of Jesus manifested in churches and Christians strong in faith. Awaken the nations to You, O God. Awaken Syrians to the love, protection and freedom they long for that is only found in You. In Your name. Amen.
