A group of 39 refugees and migrants has been stranded on a Greek inlet of the Evros River for several days without food or water, among them a five-year-old Syrian girl who is now dead and another girl, age nine, who is gravely ill, both due to scorpion stings.
Lord, please make a way for these asylum seekers to be found and taken to safety. As they await rescue, draw them to Yourself. Meet them in their dreams and in visions. If someone among them has heard Your good news, give them boldness to share with others. Spark a deep hunger within them for Your love that will not quit. Make they seek You until they find You, Lord. And when You rescue them, let them know it was You. Awaken them to Your love, Lord, and make a way for their salvation and safety. Please spare the life of this little girl who is sick, and provide food and water and help for all those who are stranded. We continue to ask You for Syrians and others who have had to flee their homeland because of violence. O God, have mercy on them. Take them somewhere where they will freely hear of Your great love, know what Christ did for them, and be saved. Tear down every wall that has kept them from this good news. Take what the enemy has used for terrible evil and turn it around for great good. May thousands of Syrians and other refugees come to Christ this year, Lord. And then use those new believers to share Your message with their countrymen. In Your name. Amen.
