Deadly Floods in Pakistan

Flash floods have killed hundreds of people in Pakistan over the past month and displaced tens of thousands. The southwestern province of Balochistan has suffered the most loss.

Let’s pray together for God to rescue those who are in danger and provide for the needs of those who are displaced, that He will bring Christians to them to share His love and good news, and give every heart in Pakistan such a deep hunger for the Lord they will seek Him with all their hearts and find Him.

Pakistan is 98% Muslim and home to 828 people groups unreached with the gospel. It is listed the eighth most dangerous country in the world for Christians due to Islamic violence and oppression. And yet, Christianity is growing at a rate of 3.3%, compared to the global rate 2.6%.

“Pakistan’s infamous blasphemy laws continue to be leveraged to accuse non-Muslims (or minority Muslim sects) of insulting the Prophet Mohammed or the Quran—even a false accusation can lead to mob violence. Additionally, a silent epidemic of kidnappings, forced marriages and forced conversion of Christian girls and women continue to take place in Pakistan,” writes Open Doors.

  • “Pray for believers who are working dangerous and unsanitary jobs, that God will keep them healthy and safe, despite their working conditions. Pray for any believers who are accused of blasphemy, that they would be kept safe and delivered from false accusations. Pray for the entire Christian community of Pakistan, that they would be encouraged and kept from exhaustion and despair.
  • “Pray for the government and religious leaders of Pakistan. Ask God to soften the hearts of people in charge, that they would extend an open hand to Pakistani Christians and allow different religions to peacefully worship and live out their faith in Pakistan.
  • “Pray for the women and girls who are kidnapped, forced to convert to Islam and marry Muslim men. Pray for healing from the deep trauma they endure and ask God to deliver His people from the deep wounds of the enemy.”
Join with other believers all across the world to pray for our nations and the whole world at the #PrayerWall, https://prayerwallforthenationandtheworld.wordpress.com. Let’s push back the darkness together as one, and pray forth God’s purposes in these trying times. “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:1 rsv
