Floods: Kentucky and St. Louis

At least 15 have died in eastern Kentucky and one in St. Louis, Missouri, due to flash floods and heavy rain this week.

Lord, please protect and rescue those in danger. Comfort those who mourn and cast out fear with Your perfect love. Give every heart a deep yearning for You and move loving, truth-filled churches to step forward and help provide for those in need and to share Your good news with the lost. Plant faith-filled believers among those who are sheltered now in parks and other places. As the lost see that these believers have also lost much, and yet their joy, hope and faith remain strong, awaken them to long for the God who brings true meaning in life. Out of the mess and loss, bring forth something beautiful — lives coming to faith in You and churches planted. Even in the temporary shelters for those who have lost their homes, break forth songs of praise and spontaneous testimonies and preaching from Your Word, reminding them of what they were created for — to know You, enjoy You, and love others through the power of Your love in them.

Join with other believers all across the world to pray for our nations and the whole world at the Prayer Wall, https://prayerwallforthenationandtheworld.wordpress.com. Let’s push back the darkness together as one, and pray forth God’s purposes in these trying times. “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:1 rsv
