Lord, today, we pray for families that have been torn apart by
- war
- poverty
- oppression, hardship, tragedy, trauma
- sickness, mental illness
- death
- divorce
- abuse
- pornography, infidelity, jealousy
- addictions
- rejection, abandonment
- anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, misunderstandings
- disagreement of values, goals
- sin, rebellion, demonic oppression
- fear, anxiety, hopelessness, depression
- busyness
- silence.
Please have mercy. Make a way for them to know You, to feel Your love, to hear Your voice, to experience Your healing. For so many of these, this is a hopeless time. But in You, O God, there is hope. Bring the prodigals back home. Mend the breaches through forgiveness. Provide freedom for the captives. And for those split apart by war, tragedy and distance, help them to find each other once again.
But most of all, Lord, help them find You. For You alone can heal their wounded hearts. You alone can mend the breaches. Please, Father, draw whole families up into Your arms to be saved. Be their way out of sin, abuse and despair. Set them free from the strongholds that have bound them for so long, and raise up a new generation of wholeness, of families that raise their children up in the love of Christ, forgiving one another, listening to one another, fighting for one another, being faithful and kind, and shining Your light in the darkness around them until the whole world knows that You are the One they’ve been looking for.
