Berti and Hausa of Sudan

Since tribal fighting began last week in Blue Nile State between the Hausa and Berti peoples, at least 65 are dead and about 150 have been injured. Both are Muslim people groups still unreached with the gospel of Christ in Sudan.

Lord, we ask You, please, to awaken the peoples of Sudan to Your love. March in with Your angel armies and push back the darkness with Your light. Give every heart a hunger for You so fierce they will lay down hatred and violence to pursue Your love instead. Tear down every wall that has kept them from the good news of Christ. Make a way for every person to hear Your gospel message in such a way that they can easily understand. And save them, Lord. Don’t let even one more person die without knowing about Your love and salvation.

We ask You especially for the Hausa and Berti peoples. Surround the innocent with Your angels as a shield and get them to safety. Meet every person bent on evil and violence in such powerful ways they will not be able to resist fearing You, repenting, and receiving Christ as Savior. Meet them in their dreams, visit them in visions. Speak in Your audible voice. Let them see You standing there before them, arms open wide, telling them of Your loving sacrifice and inviting them into Your kingdom. Bring Christians to them to show Your love, offering food, water, medical care and other provisions to the hungry and thirsty. Give Christians such favor among these tribes that when they speak of You, the lost will listen and be drawn to You through the love they see in Your servants.

The Hausa are an ancient people, Lord. They know about kings and coronations. Rise up and take them over with Your love. Bring peace to their villages. Draw every heart to worship You alone as King. Get Bibles into the hands of every Hausa and Berti person in a way that they can read or hear it. And save them, Lord. By Your mighty hand. Tear down every wall the enemy has built against You in their hearts, and begin a mighty movement of Your Spirit among them, drawing all people into the rivers of Your Living Water, so they will never thirst again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
