The West African country of Senegal is home to at least 26 people groups who do not yet know the Good News of Christ. Yesterday, a tragic fire broke out in the neonatal department of a hospital in Tivaouane, killing 11 newborn babies. Let’s pray for this 90-percent Muslim nation and for the families mourning their children.
Lord, please wrap Your arms around the families of these babies who died. Comfort them in such a way that they will know it is You. Please sweep Your love across this entire nation, invading every home and heart to show them how great Your love is for them, that You see them, You created them for Your special purposes, You are for them and You are good. Give every person in Senegal such a hunger for You they will seek You with all their hearts and find You. Make a way for Your Gospel to be translated into every language. Show them You are the One they’ve been waiting for. Give them courage to lay down every tradition and barrier, and surrender to Your truth and love, even if it means persecution or death. Lead them to Christians on social media and websites who will share with them the Good News. Flood Senegal with the Gospel and with Your love. Pursue every person relentlessly with Your love. Protect every Christian and seeker from persecution and harm, and give them wisdom and Your Spirit’s anointing to share with their family members and neighbors. Bring entire villages to You, O God. Grow Your church and multiply it until every village, every city, every neighborhood, every corner of that country resounds with voices of praise raised up to the One True God from the lips of those who worship You in spirit and in truth. Provide for Christians’ needs so abundantly, they will also abundantly help those in need around them. Give them favor with officials, neighbors, family members, and even other tribes. Raise up a generation of young people who will surrender their lives to You and passionately share Your Good News beyond every barrier and even across borders into other Muslim nations around them. Yes, Lord, awaken Senegal to Your love. Meet every person in their dreams each night, and show Yourself to them throughout the day. Perform signs and miracles and wonders. Each time they pray to You, answer them, and heal them. Set them free from hopelessness, oppression, loneliness and fear. Lift them up out of poverty and hunger miraculously by Your hand. With Your powerful love, sweep them up into Your arms. Flood them with the knowledge of how precious they are to You, and show them the way to salvation and faith.
