Women in Saudi Arabia

As a woman in Saudi Arabia, heavily restricted and oppressed because of her gender, Nawal has suffered from depression and loneliness. Several years ago, she reached out over the internet seeking meaning in life and encountered Jesus through a Christian woman’s witness. As soon as her mother found out, Nawal was placed under house arrest and then given in marriage to a Muslim man. If he were to discover her faith, legally he could beat her, take her children away, and force her to return to Islam. So, Nawal goes through the motions of ritual Muslim prayers, but prays to Jesus in silence as she does. Years have passed, and she still has never met a Christian in person or held a Bible. But every now and then, she receives a carefully-worded text of encouragement from believers who are praying for her, and then quickly deletes it from her phone before anyone sees it.

Let’s pray for women in Saudi Arabia like Nawal….

Lord, we ask You, please, to intervene in the lives of every woman and girl in Saudi Arabia. Be a Shield protecting them from harm, kidnapping, rape, abuse and more. Let them feel Your arms around them and know they are not alone. For those trapped in dangerous situations, please provide for them a way of escape. Block their abusers from harming them, and do it in such miraculous ways, they will know You are the One who did that. Bring Christians to them over social media or in the marketplaces. Show them Your love in miraculous ways. Connect them into Christian websites or Your underground church. And save them. Meet them in their dreams. Talk to them throughout the day. Make a way for them to know Your Good News and be saved. Break them free from depression, loneliness, feelings of worthlessness, and every other trap of the mind the enemy has set against them. Transform their lives so radically their husbands see their peace and joy and are drawn to You. Bring whole households to faith, and use them as beacons of light to draw the lost around them out of the darkness and into Your love. When Christians pray to You, hear their cries and answer them in miraculous ways. Heal the sick, make the lame walk and the blind see. Don’t let even one more Muslim die without knowing of the sacrifice Jesus gave so they can be free. Lead every heart in Saudi Arabia on a path to seek You and find You. Bring about a great awakening in Saudi Arabia, Lord, with thousands turning to You in faith.
