Lord, be our Shield. Block fear from invading our minds, hearts, and homes. When anxiety, worry, and panic overcome us, we have trouble trusting in Your Sovereignty and Your heart of Love. We try to take control, but everything’s so out of control, especially our racing hearts and spiraling thoughts. Rescue us, O Lord, from fear. And heal us. Reach into our troubled hearts and minds, and wrap Your arms around us. Let us feel You near. Remind us that Your plans are good, that when we rest in You and let You take over, You overcome the enemy for us and set us free. Jeremiah 29:11-14.
Set us free now, O Lord. For we are weak, and our enemy surrounds us. Remind us that he is nothing in the face of Almighty God, and that if we will but rest in You, and let You, our Shield, be the One Who surrounds us, You will fight for us and conquer our fears. Exodus 14:14, Isaiah 30:15.
Teach us to surrender every fear to Your truth. To lay it down at Your feet, and pick up faith, hope, and love in exchange. And You will give us peace. Philippians 4:6-7, 1 John 4:18.
Break us free, Lord, now. We need You. Psalm 91.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
