Each of us throughout this world faces multiple trials daily, but in the midst of it all is Jesus. No matter what evil our enemy has planned, our King has already made the way to turn it all around for good. The first and greatest work He is always doing in every circumstance is to use it to conform us all the more to His image. Romans 8:28-29. So, let’s get a head start. Today, we’re praying for our own hearts:
Lord, what are You wanting to do in my heart right now through this present trial? Show me the thoughts that have been drawing me away from You.
Am I anxious? Afraid? Angry? Worried? Teach me to take my thoughts captive and hand them to You. Topple every lie with Your truth and set me free, Lord, so I can spread Your love and hope to those around me, rather than add to their anxiety and discontent.
Use me as a messenger of Your mercy and grace. Give me patience for those who aren’t handling crisis well, and love abounding to take every opportunity to share about Your beauty, Your power, Your provision, Your salvation.
Everywhere I go, and in everything I do, please use me for Your glory. Show me how to pray for those who are facing hard times, to reach out to them, rather than complaining about my own inconveniences.
Raise us up together as Your church to spread Your love to those near and far. Rather than speaking doom and gloom, and making up our own end-time prophecies, YOU lead us, Lord. Lead us into Your heart, so we can feel what You’re feeling for those around us and all across the world who are suffering. Give us hearts full of compassion. And teach us to make worship a lifestyle, such that every thought of You leads us to sing Your praise and change the atmosphere of our homes and hearts, so we can be used by You to change the atmosphere of the whole world.
We love You, Lord, and we trust You through all of these trials we are going through. You are doing something in the midst of it all. You are drawing all people to Yourself. Help us lay down all our own messes that block us from more of You, so we can become clean vessels for Your love to flow through.
Be our Shield. Be our Guide. Be our Strength. Our Everything. The very air we breathe. In Your name. Amen.
