30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 13
Lord, please grow Your church in Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the Pacific. Soften every hardened heart. For those who have been caught up in secularism, making their way through as if this life is all that matters, catch them unawares now by Your touch and jolt their numb hearts back into feeling again. Give them such a longing for Your love they will stop trusting in themselves or their jobs or whatever they’ve been working for, and place their faith in You alone. Set them free from alcoholism and other addictions. Show them just what the power of Your love can do.
Wherever people are hurting, draw near, O God. When they cry out to You, answer them and heal them. Let them feel Your touch, meet You in their dreams, see You at work in their lives, and long to be Yours. Bring Christians across their path who will speak not only the goodness of Your love, but show them who Love is by their actions.
Awaken the church and equip every Christian to be a powerful witness, speaking truth through Your Spirit’s leading and drawing the lost to You through the love, joy and peace overflowing in their Christlike hearts. Point out to Christians those You want them to share with, and then empower them to do so. Anoint the worshippers. May their songs lifted up to You spread across the world, igniting every heart on fire for You.
Raise up influencers who will get others excited about Your plans and lead out in setting them in motion. Bless Christian workers in their jobs. Give them favor with their bosses, such high favor that others will wonder what is so different about them and, in their search to find the answer, find You. Raise up powerful preachers of Your Word who will bring back those who have strayed from Your truth.
Break from over this region the stigma of prisoners and pirates of the past, and usher in a new era of holiness and Your Spirit’s empowering. Set every heart in this region apart to be Yours, and rise up to perform miracles and signs and wonders, igniting faith, hope, and the greatest of these: LOVE.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him!
Lord, surround every Muslim in Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the Pacific with Christians who will love them into Your arms. Put Bibles into their hands, and give them a hunger for Your Word, O God, so that when they hear the Good News, they will understand, at last, that You are the One they long for, and surrender to Your grace. In Your name. Amen.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure, search the internet to choose recipes from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Tonga, and/or Tuvalu. You can also have your children research some of these countries to find the barriers to the Gospel, and then share those together with the family for prayer.
