30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: Isaiah 42
Southeast Asia is home to nearly 700 unreached people groups. In addition, six of these countries are listed among the most dangerous places for those who follow Christ.
Father, please have mercy on the lost. Open up the way for Your Gospel message to reach every tribe and every person in Southeast Asia. Raise up those who will translate the Bible into every language, and make it available to those who need it in a way they will easily receive it. Tear down the walls Islam, Buddhism, animism, prejudice, violence and fear have built against the knowledge of You, and give every person such a hunger for Your love they will seek You with all their heart and find new life in You. Break them free from the power demons and strongholds have held over their lives.
Show Yourself strong on the behalf of those who long for You. When they cry out to You, answer them, O God. Lift the veil from the eyes of imams, monks, and shamans so they will see You as You truly are, publicly declare that You are God, and invite all to worship You alone. Meet them in their dreams and give them visions of Your truth, love and power. Lead them to topple idols, burn fetishes, and bring whole families and villages to faith in You. You have led entire people groups to faith in this region before, Lord. Please do it again.
Be a Shield around every Christian and seeker of Christ. Hide them from those who wish to do them harm, and give them courage to share Your love even in the face of great danger. Protect their families and provide for all their needs.
In the countries ravaged by violence and abuse, please, Father, intervene. Show up in front of those bent on evil, blocking them from following through. Let them see Your angels standing guard to protect the innocent. Give persecutors such powerful encounters with You they will fall to their knees in repentance. Save them by Your grace, O God, and transform their lives. Turn every murderer into powerful preachers and messengers of Your love and grace.
Increase Your church in this region by the millions, O God. Awaken every heart and draw it to You. Set apart a multitude of youth who will speak with passion about You, spreading Your Word like wildfire until You are praised on every island and from shore to shore.
Build Your throne in every heart, O God. May Your kingdom come to all the peoples of Southeast Asia.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him!
As the deer pants for streams of water, give every Muslim heart in Southeast Asia a thirst to meet with You, O Living God. Psalm 42:1-2. May they seek You in earnest and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Sweep over them now, O Living Water, drawing them into Your love. Remove every wall that has blocked them from Truth, and show them Jesus. Give them courage to lay down the things they have held onto so they can grab hold of Your love and grace, and surrender to You. As they pray to the God of Life, save them. Place a new song of praise on their lips, as they sing, “All my fountains are in You.” Psalm 87:7 NIV. As each soul turns to You, flood Your love through them in such powerful measures, it will spread to all those around them, and hundreds more will be pulled into Your River of Life. Awaken the Muslims of Southeast Asia to You, O God, and bring about a great revival in every heart in every country and beyond. In Your name. Amen.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure, search the internet to choose recipes from Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Brunei, Singapore, and/or Timor-Leste. You can also have your children research some of these countries to find the barriers to the Gospel, and then share those together with the family for prayer.
