30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: John 14:1-7
Nearly 1.7 billion people live in East Asia, 1.4 billion of them in the most populous country in the world, China, where Christians and Muslims are heavily persecuted for their faith. In addition, North Korea held the rank for many years as the most dangerous country in the world for those who love Christ (Now it is surpassed by Afghanistan.).
Set the prisoners free. You have performed so many miracles before in this region. Do it again now, please, God. Whenever authorities lift a hand against a Christian, freeze that hand and don’t unfreeze it until that leader cries out to You for mercy and begs the Christians to pray for him.
You’ve done it before, Lord. Do it again.
Whenever a prisoner is tortured and his body broken so he cannot walk, heal his injuries, open prison doors, and walk him out into freedom.
You’ve done it before, Father. Do it again.
Wherever Christians gather in secret to worship You, hide them from those who seek to do them harm.
You’ve done it before, Lord. Do it again.
Wherever the government has sought to stamp out Christianity, increase Your church dramatically by the millions.
You’ve done it before, Lord. Do it again.
Wherever evangelism has been forbidden and there seemed no way to get Your Good News to the unreached, You opened a way, Lord. Do it again.
More than 500 people groups with about as many languages are unreached with the Gospel in this East Asia. Please, Father, make a way to get Your Word translated into every language in a form easy to understand, even for those who cannot read. Awaken the peoples of East Asia to You. Give them a hunger for You so desperate they will seek You in earnest. Then make Yourself easy to find. Guide them to Christians on social media, place Bibles in their midst, bring Christians across their paths, tune their TVs and radios to Christian broadcasts, and proclaim Your truth loudly. Perform signs and miracles and wonders for all to see, showing them beyond any doubt that You are God and You are Love.
Strengthen Christians in faith, hope, love and truth, so they will boldly share Your Gospel. Protect them and their families from any harm and make them such bright lights in the darkness, the lost will flock to You.
Father, nations in this region have put up high walls against You and hardened their hearts. Soften them, please. Meet them in their dreams at night, talk to them throughout the day. Show them how what they’re standing on is not bringing them the happiness they seek. Then step in with a bright demonstration of Your joy and peace. Show them believers who have what they’re looking for and draw them to Your light like moths to a flame.
As certain areas of this region grow darker and the future looms ominous, march in with Your armies of light. Steal into every dark corner and rescue those who seek to end their lives. Show them Your love in such powerful ways, they will find new life in You.
For those who are victims of human trafficking, provide the way of escape and heal their hearts and minds like only You can. Meet every person bent on evil in such a miraculous way they will fall to their knees in worship of You. Save them and transform them into powerful witnesses of Your truth and love, opening doors all across the region for millions to come to Christ.
You have done it before, Father. Do it again.
Awaken every heart in East Asia with Your love.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him!
Lord, so many unreached people groups in East Asia are Muslim. Please to place a deep hunger in the hearts of the Ainu, Bonan, Dongxiang, Hui, Kangjia, Kaji, Keriya, Khik, Kyrgyz, Alxa Mongol, Nubra, Paxi, Purik, Salar, Tajik, Tatar, Tuerke, Utsat, Uyghur, Dungan, Uzbek, and Kazakh peoples of China and Mongolia; the Malay and Turkish peoples of Korea; and the Persian, Bengali and Punjabi peoples of Japan. Open their eyes to see that You are the One they long for. As they go to the mosques to pray, meet them there, Jesus, with visions of Your love and a clear presentation of Your Gospel. Many of these peoples are persecuted in China, especially the Uyghurs. Meet them in the labor camps, Lord. When they cry out to You, comfort them, speak to them, give them strength and make the way for their escape. Do it in such miraculous ways they will know it is You. Meet them in their dreams and give them visions to story them through the Gospel message. Make a way for every Muslim in East Asia to hear or read Your Word in their heart language, and prepare their hearts to receive Your truth. Give them courage to lay down their religious traditions and surrender to the One who died so they can live. Awaken the Muslim peoples of East Asia to You, O God. May Your kingdom come to every tribe, tongue, language, village, home and heart. In Your name. Amen.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure, search the internet to choose recipes from China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, North Korea, and/or Japan. You can also have your children research some of these countries to find the barriers to the Gospel, and then share those together with the family for prayer.
