30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: Genesis 16:13
Nearly two billion people live in this area of the world, 95 percent of them unreached with the Gospel. Make a way, Lord, for Your Good News to reach into the nearly 4,000 unreached people groups of South Asia. Raise up believers with a heart for these who are still untouched by Your truth, and smooth the path to get Your Word translated into all of their languages. Seven of the eight countries in this region are listed among the most dangerous places to live for those who want to follow Christ, making it hard for seekers to find You. But You know who they are, Lord, so come near to them, let them feel Your touch, hear Your voice, and be found at last in You. Protect believers from persecution and harm, and lead them to those who are hungry to know You. Provide for all their needs so abundantly they will also abundantly share with others, bringing the Gospel together with a demonstration of Your love. Father, please have mercy on the poor. Protect the women and children from abuse and trafficking. Provide a way of escape for those who are trapped. Feed the hungry. Protect the vulnerable. Show up in miraculous ways in people’s lives, whether they live in the slums or are of high caste, and whether they live in hard-to-reach areas or in over-crowded cities. Show them Your power, God. Millions worship thousands of gods and live in fear of what the spirits will do if they don’t bow to idols, give offerings and sacrifices, or follow through with certain rituals. Show those who are still in darkness that You are the God who knows them by name. You see them. You hear them. You love them. When they cry out to You, God, answer them. Protect them from those who want to do them harm. Provide homes for the thousands of orphans. Some local pastors have taken in hundreds of orphaned children, trusting in faith that You will feed them, clothe them, and bring other Christians to help care for them. When they and the children cry out to You for help, please answer, Lord. Be near to these children and show them Your love. Father them gently, healing their brokenness and raising them up as a generation who will love You with all their hearts and shine Your light in the darkness. Even this year, Father, many lost have come to faith in this region. We ask You, Lord, for more. May Your Word spread like wildfire, and Your love wash over the peoples like refreshing waters of hope. Bring millions to Christ and plant thousands of churches among every language group of South Asia. Then shield those churches. So many have had to meet underground because of government restrictions and persecution. Multiply every church now 500-fold, bless the members abundantly, grow them deep in love and truth, and keep them from harm. Provide and protect trainings for local pastors and evangelists to equip them to share Your Good News in a way that’s easy to understand and to disciple believers to go deep in Your Word and step out in Your love, boldly sharing with everyone You place in their path for that purpose. Bring persecutors to their knees before You, trembling in Your presence. Show them Your glory such that they drop their weapons, let go of their anger and prejudice, and surrender to Your love. Awaken the peoples of South Asia, Lord. Don’t let even one more person die in bondage to the enemy without knowing of Your great love and salvation.

Lord, Muslims are persecuted severely by Hindus in India. As they run to find safety, come and meet them in powerful ways to show them Your love. Make a way for them to hear Your Good News and choose Jesus as King. Bring Christians to them to hide and protect them and share truth with their hungry hearts. There are also Muslims in this region who persecute Christians in unspeakable ways. Get up in their face, Lord, and show them Your glory. Let them see Your angels standing around the Christians they seek to harm, guarding them. Walk with Your people in the midst of every fire, and bring them out unscathed. Haunt Muslim persecutors in their dreams, pointing them to the Way, the Truth and the Life. Show them who You are, and lift the darkness from their minds, setting them free to lay down everything and follow You. In Your name. Amen.
