30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening

Bible Reading: Isaiah 40

Nearly 160 unreached people groups live in this region which, due to dictatorial paranoia, is ranked among the most dangerous in the world for those who follow Jesus. Barriers of language, high mountains, oppressive regimes, and Islam have built walls against the Gospel message. Lord, please make a way for Your message of truth, love, and grace to be heard and received by every person all throughout Central Asia in a language they can easily understand. Millions in Central Asia have never met a Christian, never seen a Bible, and have had no way to hear about You. But come now, Lord, to them. Make a way through the wilderness to invade every city, town, village, home, and heart with Your love. Visit the lost through dreams and visions. Perform signs and miracles to show Your glory. Give them a hunger for You that will drive them to travel far and wide and to do whatever it takes to seek You until they find You. Be found by them, O God, like the lost sheep left in the wilderness. Draw them into Your fold, carry the young and the injured in Your loving arms. Let them feel Your presence, hear Your voice, and know what it’s like to be led by the Good Shepherd. John 10, Psalm 23. Don’t let even one more life pass away without knowing of Your love. Break their bondage to evil spirits and sin, Lord. Show Yourself strong and set them free. Bring Christians across their path to show them the way to You. For those who travel from the countryside to the cities and find You there, send them back to their villages to tell of Your great love, so that thousands will come to the light of Your salvation. Protect every Christian in this region from persecution and harm. Hide the underground churches from those who want to do them harm, and provide the way for Your Word to be preached openly. Bring into power leaders who will bless the people, not oppress, who will invite Truth to enter in, so the unreached of Central Asia will no longer live in darkness but will know the Light and Life. When they cry out to You, hear them, O God, and deliver them. Heal them, rescue them from danger, and raise up a chosen generation in this region who will take Your Gospel beyond barriers and borders so that all peoples will hear of Your great fame. Awaken every heart and draw it to You.

Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him! 

Lord, please give the Muslims of Central Asia a hunger for You so strong, they will travel far and wide to find You. Call out Christians to learn their unreached languages, share Your love with those who have never heard, and translate the Bible. Open up the doors for Your Good News to go in with power and flood hearts, homes and villages with Your love. Make every Muslim heart in this region like soft ground ready to receive Your seeds of Truth, and then plant those roots deep and make salvation spring up from the ground. Show them You are the One they’ve been waiting for and save them, O God. Rescue them from darkness and free them to dance for You in the Light. In Your name. Amen.

Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure, search the internet to choose recipes from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and/or Afghanistan. You can also have your children research some of these countries to find the barriers to the Gospel, and then share those together with the family for prayer.
