30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: Matthew 6:19-31
Lord, today we ask You for the European countries to the west, north, south, and the islands. Awaken every heart and mind to Your love and truth. Some have heard about You, and even pass churches every day, but they have yet to choose You as Savior and Lord. They don’t understand how personal and real You are — that You created them for relationship. Grow a hunger in every heart, a longing for You so fierce they will lay down everything they’ve been chasing after and find their worth only in You. O Father, so many missionaries of old came from this area of the world to spread Your Good News to the outer reaches of the earth where no one had heard of You before. But now, many churches in Europe have fallen asleep spiritually. Revive them. Give each Christian and professed Christian a powerful revelation of Your truth and love. Let them feel Your presence, hear Your voice, see Your hand at work, know You are with them, and follow You. Give them courage to lay down pride, tradition, money, and every other idol; so they will flow in the love, joy and peace that come from surrender to You. Ignite their hearts with holy fire, and raise up a generation that will share Your Good News far and wide, into even the darkest corners of Europe and beyond. Empower every Christian with deep, humble, selfless love. Give them courage to boldly share testimonies daily of the marvelous things You’ve done. Raise up Christian leaders, worshippers, artists, educators, and influencers of all kinds who will lead out in a great movement all across this region, turning the nations to You. Heal those who are sick, provide for those in need, protect those in danger, and do these things in such a way that all will know only You could have done that. Perform signs and miracles and wonders like never before. Where hearts have been hard, soften them up. Tear down every barrier that has stood in the way. Bring down walls of pride, religion, self-protection, addiction, and every other stronghold, saving the lost and setting them free by the thousands to worship You. March into every city with Your armies of Light, and push back the darkness. Invite Yourself into every home and homeless space to invade peoples’ dreams at night, and to turn their thoughts to You all throughout the day. Draw them to find a Bible, or dust off their own, and read it. Reveal Yourself through every verse in that way You do when You cut straight through to the heart and transform it. May Your Kingdom come to every culture and tongue living in all the nations of Europe, and may Your praises be sung from the highest mountains to every shore, past every border and into every heart. Awaken Europe now, Lord, to You.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him!
Lord, please awaken the hearts of Muslims living in Portugal, Spain, Andorra, France, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Malta, Monaco, San Marino, and Finland. Give them a hunger to know You, and bring Christians into their path to share Your Good News with them in a way they can easily understand. Please open up prison doors, and set them free to seek You and find You. Give them a hunger for something more in life, for the love, peace and joy only You can give, and then make the way for them to find You, Lord, and surrender to Your love. Raise up children in Muslim families to seek truth and find You. To boldly step away from tradition and barriers and run after You with all their hearts. Perform signs and miracles and wonders in their midst so they will not be able to resist Your love, and heal them, Lord, as they turn to You. Whenever a Muslim chooses to follow Christ, make that change in their life so drastic, everyone will see their peace, love and joy, and turn to You, as well.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure, search the internet to choose recipes to cook for dinner from Portugal, Spain, Andorra, France, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Svalbard, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, San Marino, The Vatican, and/or Finland. Have your children research some of these countries to find what kinds of things people might be running after that is not Christ, and then talk about those distractions and pray for those people.
