30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: Matthew 24:14
As we pray for the lost who live in countries where oppressive governments have cut them off from hearing the Good News, ask the Lord to show you someone from one of those countries who now lives somewhere near you. Pray for them today, and ask the Lord to open up opportunities for you to show them His love this week.
Lord, today we cry out to You for the lost who live in nations that do not allow open preaching of the Gospel. Some of these countries are poverty-stricken and war-torn, with oppressive (often Communist, Muslim, or other religious or violent) governments that make life difficult for the masses and even more difficult for those truly seeking You. Churches must meet in hiding, so even if someone looked for You, where would they go to find You? Lord, You know where these seekers are, and You know where the underground churches and believers are. Connect them safely, please. Meet the lost in their dreams and give them a hunger for You so great, finding You becomes their greatest passion. Then satisfy them with Your love. Jeremiah 29:13. Lead them to certain Christian sites and individuals on the internet and social media that will point them to You. Plant thousands of new churches even this year in closed countries. Perform signs and miracles and wonders to turn whole villages, cities, and nations to You. Put believers and sympathizers in positions of authority, who will open doors and ease up restrictions through Your leading, making it possible for people to hear about and know You. For those who are afraid to seek You, overwhelm them with Your love and cast out all their fear. 1 John 4:18. Open their eyes to see You as You truly are, and give them courage to lay down their traditions, fear of punishment, and whatever false gods they have been worshipping to run into Your arms, receive Your salvation, and worship You alone as God. Father, these closed countries are no longer just off somewhere far away from us, but You have brought their people to our own cities, and even our own neighborhoods. Some of them still have never heard Your Good News, even though they now live in an open country. Show us how to reach them with Your love. Help us build bridges that make it easy for them to get to You. Open up just the perfect opportunities at the perfect moment for us to share, and empower us by Your Spirit to speak and act in a way that they will fully understand who You are and why You came to save them. Awaken them to You, O God. May they know the One who loves them and created them for relationship. May they at last find in You the love, joy, and peace they’ve been searching for.

Lord, please protect and give courage to Muslim seekers who are in danger, especially in Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Eritrea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Maldives, Qatar, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Mauritania, Mali, Turkmenistan, Morocco, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Niger, Tunisia, Oman, Jordan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Turkey, Cameroon, Tajikistan, Brunei, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Malaysia. Strengthen their hunger for You, and provide a way for them to hear Your Good News and be saved. Connect them safely with underground churches, and shield those churches and Christians from persecution and harm. Make a way for Your truth to spread from heart to heart, mouth to mouth, and nation to nation, crushing every lie that gets in the way, and drawing millions of lost people in closed countries to You, Jesus. In Your name. Amen.

You can also invite your children to do research on some of those countries and share what they found, or just read the information from the Watchlist about that country. Over dinner, talk about some of the barriers to the Gospel, and then pray together for the lost, the oppressed, and for persecuted Christians in those countries.
