Day 5 of 30: Unreached Peoples

30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening

Bible Reading: Romans 10:13-15

Lord, still nearly one-third of the world’s population has yet to hear Your Good News. Some are blocked by oppressive governments, others by linguistic, religious, geographic or other barriers. Call out believers with a heart for these unreached peoples who will pray for them and penetrate their darkness with Your light. Give the lost such a hunger for You they will seek You with all their heart and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Lead them to believers and churches who will share the Gospel with them and love them into Your arms. Give them access to the internet and radio, and connect them that way with churches, local believers, and Your truth. Open their hearts wide, so as soon as they hear of You, they will know You are the One they’ve been looking for. When they call upon You, hear them, O God, and answer them. Perform signs and miracles and wonders to display Your love and power, so they will lay down their idols and worship You alone. Meet them in their dreams. Speak to them throughout the day. Point them in directions that lead them to You. Awaken them to Your love and salvation. Transform their hearts so powerfully others will also believe. Bring whole families and villages and people groups to faith in You, Lord. Don’t leave any corner of this planet untouched. Plant thriving, multiplying churches in every area of this earth, until all peoples have had the chance to know You.

Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God. Let’s pray they find Him! Take a look at the map at JoshuaProject.net and click on any country outside of Latin America. Look for the red dots that indicate unreached peoples, and you will likely see that most are Islamic. Pick several of those unreached Muslim groups in whichever countries God leads you to, and write those people group names down in your journal. Purpose to pray for them today, that as they fast and pray this month, Jesus will reveal Himself to them and they will be saved. (Families might enjoy a free guide for children to pray for Muslims.)

Dinner and a Prayer: Do you know missionaries working with an unreached people group? Cook a recipe from that people group for dinner, and have family members research some about that people group’s customs, beliefs, etc. Talk about what some barriers to the Gospel might be, and then pray for that people group and the missionaries who work with them. If you don’t have a connection with UPG, pick countries on the JoshuaProject map and click on them. Look for the red dots. Then search the internet for recipes by those people groups, and pray for them at dinner. Here are some suggestions to give you an idea: Yemen Carrot Rice; Kutabi (Azerbaijani Savory Pancakes Filled with Greens and Herbs); Bedouin Tea.
