30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: 2 Peter 3
Do you have family members or neighbors who don’t know the Lord yet? Today as we pray, pray for them by name.
Lord, we cry out to You for the billions throughout the earth, for those in our nation, our city, our neighborhood, and our own family who do not yet know You. Give them a hunger for You so fierce they will forsake everything else to seek You with all their hearts and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Visit them in their dreams. Get up in their face. Invade their space. Bring across their path so many obvious, lavish displays of Your love, grace and healing that they can no longer deny You alone are God and You alone are Good. Give them courage to lay down all their excuses and finally step over that line they have been so afraid of before to choose You now as Savior. Whatever lies the enemy has bound them with, Father, set them free. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are and surrender to Your truth. Whatever they’ve been standing on that’s not You, whatever arguments they have raised against the knowledge of You, tear them all down and draw them up into Your loving arms in an embrace so tight, so meaningful, so life-transforming they will make Your grace their place of rest and never leave You. May they know the Love that sets them free, so overwhelmed by the peace, joy and miracles You have brought into their lives that they share what You have done with everyone they know, bringing many more into Your kingdom. Plant new churches even this year, Lord, in every neighborhood of every city in every nation all throughout the world. Give us courage to share with the lost. Show us those You have placed in our sphere of influence that You want us to share with, and open up the way for others to come into our lives who need You as well. Empower us with Your words and love to share with them in such a way that they will understand who You are and what You came to do, so the scales will fall from their eyes and they will see clearly their need for a Savior. Plant your truth so deep in their hearts, it will take root and grow unto salvation, bringing forth a great harvest, not only in the lives of those around them, but all throughout the world. May the whole earth be filled with Your glory.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world will be fasting and seeking God. Let’s pray they find Him! (For families, you might enjoy a free guide for children to pray for Muslims.)
There is only one Way to get to You, Father, and that is through Your Son, Jesus. As Muslims seek You in prayer and fasting this month, show them that Way. Meet them in their dreams. Unsettle their minds and hearts with a yearning to know more. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. As they read the Koran, get them wondering if what they believe is true, and drive them to find You. Get the Gospel into their hearts in such a way that every wall against Truth crumbles to the ground and all they can do is surrender to You. Wherever they have longed for life over shame and death, show they You are that Life. Wherever they have felt the pain of abuse and oppression, show them Your Father heart of Love. Meet every Muslim where they are, for only You know their innermost thoughts. Reveal Yourself to each person in a way they can’t refuse. Be their Safe Place, Lord. May they surrender to Your love and be found in You.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure this day, fix favorite dishes of those you love who don’t yet believe in Jesus. This can actually be a sweet way to reach out to them, if God leads. You can tell them your family will be praying for them this day, and ask for specific prayer requests. Better yet, invite them for dinner. As you talk together, ask them how things are going in their life and what is the hardest thing they are facing right now. As the Lord leads, pray for them out loud and share your testimony of how you came to know Jesus. A few days later, connect with them again to ask them how that situation you prayed for is going.
