30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening
Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21
The deeper the darkness, the brighter His Light shines in the midst of it, drawing all men to Himself. Let’s be that light.
Lord, we ask You, please, to raise up from among this generation leaders who will step forward in unprecedented love, courage, and empowering through Your Holy Spirit to lead Your church into a Great Awakening. May we step out in front of our brothers and sisters, beckoning them to leave behind every distraction and seek Your will for their lives every moment. Set us afire with passion for You, O God. Bind us together as one, an unstoppable force crushing every scheme of the enemy, rescuing the lost, building the church, growing believers, and walking out in purity and integrity in all that we do. Bring back to the center of Your will those who have dallied on the fringes of the flock. Scoop the hurting up into Your arms and carry them. Mend every breach. Douse bitterness with grace and love. Bind churches together in unity to reach our cities and nations for Christ. Tear down our pride and idols, O Lord, and lead us out in humility and Your righteousness to fight for what matters most and to share Your Good News with those who are perishing. Psalm 45. May we love like never before, laying down our greed and self-protection to trust in You as the One who fights for us, so we will do what it takes to carry Your light into the darkness. Show each of us, Lord, what we can do over the internet and in our neighborhoods to reach those of other nations who have yet to hear the message of Your love in a way they can easily understand. Give us insight into the needs of the ones You want us to minister to, and provide the means to do that. Set us free from the sin and strongholds that keep us from more of You. Make us pure and holy beacons in the darkness, so those who search for You will know where to find You. May every Christian be a safe place where others feel they can lay down their burdens and rest. Give us favor in the eyes of all. May they know we are Christians and be drawn to You by our love. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. April 2-May 1, Muslims throughout the world will be fasting and seeking God. Let’s pray they find Him! (Families might enjoy this free guide for children to pray for Muslims.)
Lord, today we ask You for Muslims who hunger for You but have been afraid to seek You. Show them where the hidden churches are where they can find You. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love. Give them courage to seek You out on the internet and to look for Christians on social media who will share Your Good News with them. Satisfy their hunger with the Living Waters of Your love flowing through them each time they hear Your name. Visit them in their dreams. Show them the way to the cross, where they can die to all that has led them astray and come alive to the One who is the Way, Truth and Life.
Dinner and a Prayer: If you want to deepen your family’s prayer adventure this day as you pray for the church, have your children ask your pastor what his favorite meal is, and prepare that for dinner tonight. Ask him for special prayer requests and tell him your family will be praying for him. Better yet, invite his family for dinner and pray for them in person.
