Let’s pray for families who are suffering after tornadoes swept across Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and several other states this week.
Lord, please comfort those mourning losses, and provide for their needs in a way they will know it is You. Use Christians to shine Your peace and love even in the midst of terrible hardship, and draw the lost to You. For those who have run from You for so long and now find themselves with nothing to stand on, give them a deep longing for You that drives them to climb over every wall they’ve built against You. Open their eyes to see Your greatness and love, their ears to hear Your voice calling them to You, their minds to discern Truth from lies, and their hearts to yearn for the more they were created for (John 10:10). When they cry out to You, answer them, Lord, in powerful ways. Bring Christians to them to show them hospitality and love them into Your arms. Call out churches to provide for the needs of those who are suffering and to help them rebuild. Send Christian counselors to help those affected by trauma to healing and freedom. And save the lost, O Lord. Awaken hearts to Your love and grace. Bring forth something beautiful from out of every tragedy, like only You can (Romans 8). Bless abundantly Christians who have lost homes or businesses, and rebuild what was lost in such a beautiful, even miraculous way that they will speak of Your goodness, love, comfort and provision all the days of their lives, and many lost who hear will be drawn to the God of Love and Miracles. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
