China has held several headlines in the news lately, the most tragic of which is a plane crash yesterday, which cost the lives of all 132 people on board. As the Chinese also battle increased surveillance, persecution, Covid lockdowns, and tension with other countries, especially neighboring Taiwan, let’s pray today for this vast country on the list of most dangerous places for Christians, home to more than 1.4 billion people and 443 people groups still unreached with the Gospel.
Lord, please comfort those who have lost loved ones. Let them feel You near. Speak to them in ways they will know it is You, and draw them into Your arms of love. Father, this nation has endured so many terrible hardships through the years, and millions still have yet to hear the Good News of Your love and salvation. So many tribes have no Christians who speak their language and not even a portion of Scripture. In addition, high mountains, restrictions against sharing Christ, persecution, illiteracy, pressures of family, culture and more have built barriers against the Gospel. Please, Lord, tear those barriers down. Push through the darkness with Your light. March Your angel armies into every corner of that country and awaken every heart to You. Give every person of every tribe and language a deep hunger for You, and then reveal Yourself to them in such a way that they can clearly see Your invitation to intimacy. So many have lost businesses, loved ones and more due to the trials of late. And yet more face terrible conditions in prisons and labor camps. In places where there is no Christian influence, hatred, anger, abuse and corruption have consumed heart after heart. O God, please have mercy. Deliver them from evil. Reach into every home and heart and SPEAK in such a way the cloud of darkness that has covered minds and hearts is lifted, so they can clearly see You as You truly are: God of Love and Compassion, Pursuer of Hearts, Desire of Nations, Comforter, Prince of Peace, Holy One, Strong Tower, Deliverer, Life, Hope, Almighty, Sovereign, the One they’ve been longing for, Savior, King, Messiah. Lay out before them the path to Your Kingdom, and give them courage to step on into Your free gift of abundant life. O God, churches have been disbanded by the government, Christians threatened, imprisoned, killed for their love for You. Rise up now on behalf of Your people and fight for their families and for Your church. For every Christian who is persecuted, bring 1,000 lost to faith in You. For every church forbidden to meet, plant 1,000 new churches. Bring people to faith by the millions and grow Your church like never before in this country. Topple every way the enemy has set out to kill, steal, oppress and destroy, and show even government leaders what abundant life truly is and the Truth of the only Way to experience that Life. John 10:10, 14:6. Sheild every Christian from harm, hide them from those bent on evil, and empower them to boldly preach the Good News to seekers You place in their path. Cast out fear with Your perfect love, and save this nation, Lord. In the holy name of Jesus.
