Ukrainian Refugees

Lord, we ask for Your protection and provision for the now more than two million refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. Assign Your angel armies to comfort those who mourn, to help them stay warm and well-fed, to open the way for safe passage out of the country, and to open up borders, homes, churches, and other truly safe and welcoming places of refuge where they will be well cared for and shown Your great love. Raise up Christian counselors, especially those who speak the refugees’ native languages, who will pray for those in need, minister to them, provide counseling and share Your message of hope and salvation. Raise up seekers as translators, and deepen their hunger for You such that they, too, turn to You for salvation and lead others to You. Father, so many who have fled their homes have seen terrible atrocities. They have lost neighbors and loved ones and seen the devastation of neighborhoods where children once played. O God, please place Your healing hand upon their hearts and minds. Overcome their trauma with Your safe embrace and cast out their fears, as You comfort them with Your love. Speak to them in powerful ways so they know it is You. Show up in their nightmares to save them and their loved ones and to show them Heaven and Your open door to peace with God through Christ’s loving sacrifice. Burn a desperate longing deep within every refugee for salvation. As they wait to cross borders, as they wait for a place to go and a place to stay, as they wait for help with translation, food, medicine, transportation and other needs, O God, come and meet them. Walk among them and talk to them. Plant Christians there in the crowds to speak hope and peace, to pray for people and minister to them, to share with them the way to salvation. Perform healings and other miracles in their midst. Draw every cold heart into Your warm embrace. Ease away bitterness with Your tenderness, complaining with gratefulness, fear with faith. Through Your perfect love, O God, cast out fear and anxiety. So many have lost everything — homes, businesses, possessions, loved ones, peace of mind, the life they have always known. Come and bring them new life. John 10:10. Touch their hearts in ways that they will know it is You. Each time they speak Your name, overwhelm them with peace and answer them. Protect their husbands, fathers and other loved ones who are still in Ukraine. Make a way for them to communicate with each other, for families to be drawn together in all the deeper love, for forgiveness and the mending of breaches in relationships. But most of all, God, deepen within every heart a longing for Your love. You are the only way through this crisis. Awaken their hearts to that truth. Make what the enemy has meant for great evil an open door to eternal life for the lost and to anointing and deep oneness with You for believers.
