As England picks up the pieces and faces yet more stormy weather today after Eunice‘s hurricane-force winds killed at least 11 people across the UK and parts of Western Europe, let’s pray.
Lord, please comfort those who have lost loved ones and property. Let them feel You near. when they cry out to You, hear them, please, and answer them in powerful ways. Remind them of Scriptures they have read about Your love and mercy, and then bring Christians into their path to help them through the chaos. Provide for their needs and rebuild their lives upon You as their Solid Rock, so when the stormy trials come again, they will not sink in fear but will cling to You and overcome. Awaken England to You, O God. Press a hunger into every heart so deep they will drop everything they have been holding onto that is not You and they will seek You and truly find You. Strengthen Your churches, Lord, with revival fire. Anoint them to shine Your light in the darkness and show Your love so vividly and with such a demonstration of Your miraculous power and unending mercy, many will turn from their sin and believe in You. Fill the churches to overflowing with seekers, and anoint those in Christian leadership to preach the Word in Your Spirit’s power. Catch this generation on fire for You, and raise up Christians, especially young people, who will fight for the things of Your heart and lead others to place their faith in You. Make Your Gospel known and spread widely, until every person has heard and had the chance to choose salvation. Tear down the walls the enemy has built up in people’s hearts against knowing You, and step through the rubble of their lives to show them who Love is and set them free. Soften every hardened heart, and turn the nation to You.
