Love. Joy. Peace. Abundant life. These are ours through Christ. Galatians 5:22-23, John 10:10.
Lord, what has been blocking me from more of You? If You are my Peace, then why am I so anxious? If You are my joy and You are Love, then why am I depressed or angry? How have I allowed the enemy to kill my relationships, steal my joy and destroy the beautiful things You are building in me an in my family? Show me what lies I believe that take me away from You. John 8:42-47. What have You been telling me that I still don’t fully believe yet? And what am I believing that is contrary to what Your Word says?
O Father, set us free. Plant Your truth so deep within our hearts it topples every lie. Give us courage to walk out in Your Word, not swayed by others’ opinions or expectations, so we will obey only You. For it is in surrender to You that we find true joy. Don’t let busyness, distraction, selfish desires or past wounds control us and block us from the more we were created for. Hand us the keys to our spiritual prisons, and give us courage to break out of jail, so our can also freely seek You. Lord, so many times we feel like this problem we have is just who we are or the “cards” we’ve been dealt. But Your Word tells us all things are possible through Christ and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. So, come near to us now, please, Holy Spirit. Topple our lies with Your truth, and set us free to enjoy Your great love for us, trust in Your purposes, and follow Your lead every moment. Awaken our hearts to Truth. Awaken our whole families to Your love.
