Praying for a Hopeful Future for Our Children

Let’s pray Jeremiah 29:11-14 over our country today, asking God to bring us back from all the ways we’ve been captive to the enemy, so our children (and we) will have a hope and a future of abundant life. John 10:10.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.”

Jeremiah 29:11-14 NIV

Lord, You have given us a choice, because You are loving. You don’t force us to choose You. But when we disobeyed You, when we chose to walk in our sinful ways, rather than letting Your Spirit empower us to walk in paths that bring LIFE and hope and Christ, we darkened the future for our nation and for our children and children’s children. Steal back for us that future, Lord. Luke 11:21-22. Rise up and show Yourself strong on our behalf and on behalf of our children and the generations yet to come. Put into effect what must happen for the plans You have to prosper us, keep us from harm and give us a hope and a future to come into full fulfillment. We are calling on You now, Lord, and coming to You in prayer. Listen to us, as You have promised. Even though we have been wayward and rebellious, Lord, choosing lies over truth and promoting our own agendas instead of seeking Yours, forgive us, please, now, Lord. Pursue us and set us free from the chains that have bound us to our idols. Give us a hunger for You. Drive us to seek You with all our hearts, for You have promised that when we seek You we will find You, if we look for You in earnest. Be found by us now, Lord, so we will be found in You. And bring us back from captivity, so we can raise our children up in freedom and in the arms of the One who created them for Your glory. In Your name. Amen.
