Lord, be our Shield. Protect us and our loved ones from harm. Don’t let the enemy spoil our time together, but cut him out of the meeting. Wherever he plans to sow dissension, bring love, peace, patience, and understanding instead. Help us be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Fill our travels, the place where we meet and our whole time together with Your presence, delight and the conversations that lead to You. Protect our children as they play and fill them with joy and peace. Be with our loved ones who are far away and can’t join us. Meet them in special, intimate ways. Let them feel Your comfort and joy. Bless them with something extra special from Your hand that they will know is from You. And guard our hearts until we meet again. For those of us who are missing loved ones who have passed on from this life, give us comfort, sweet memories, and peace. Let this holiday season be one that brings You glory. And any way that You want to change us, Lord, we offer You our hearts and minds to do with as You will. We love You. May Your love flow through us to everyone around us. In Your name. Amen.
