Being still isn’t easy. Especially when the demands of this world press against us. As I’ve been asking the Lord to teach me how to be still, He’s been opening up the way to quiet myself, even in the midst of those busy things of everyday life. To go ahead and make that granola, but to worship as I do. To go ahead and write this post, but in the thick of His presence as I do. To go ahead and tend to the needs of others around me, but in the quiet gentleness of Love’s empowering, rather than with a mind that is hurried or anxious.
Focus is key to being still. The purpose of this moment is not to get that thing done as fast as possible, but to do what God is leading me to do, loving those around me and seeing them through His eyes as I do it; taking the time to do it well from a place of rest in His empowering, focusing on Him and His purposes in the moment and becoming a sweet vessel for the flow of His love to reach out and touch those around me.
Lord, invite us into deep, empowering quiet times with You. All throughout the day, train us to walk in the stillness of Your quieting presence. Teach us to meet You in each moment and love those around us through Your Spirit’s leading, as an extension of what You’re doing in their lives and in my own, fully handed over to Your purposes and presence.

My husband Bill, has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and is facing surgery December 9th. Do you have any prayers for healing and surgery. I’m having a hard time putting my words into prayers at this point. Thank you, Susan Thompson
