Here is an update on the current situation in Afghanistan. Let’s continue to pray….
Lord, give those bent on violence and evil such a powerful encounter with Love that they fall on their faces before You as Paul did, repent, and become agents good instead. Acts 9.
Grow within every lost person in Afghanistan a deep, deep hunger for You. May they seek You with all their heart and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Meet them in their dreams. Speak to them throughout the day. Open a door for them to hear Your Good News in such a way that they can easily understand. Connect them to Scripture and to loving Christians on the internet and in other ways. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are, and break them from the bondage of the demons that have held them fast to strongholds of enmity against You.
Be a Shield around every believer and seeker in Afghanistan. Guard them from harm. Get to safety those who are in danger. Give believers favor with their neighbors, so their identity is not compromised. Guide seekers to those believers who will boldly share the Gospel with them so they can be saved. And grow Your church, Lord. Exponentially. Deepen Christians’ faith and ready them for the days ahead. Give them Your words to speak when questioned. Matthew 10. If they face death for their faith, then grant them peace, as You did Stephen. Acts 7.
Father, please guard every woman and girl from forced marriage and abuse. Place Your name on her lips, and hear her cries. Rescue her like only You can. Make a way of escape, and heal the wounds in her heart, mind and body. Distract her assailants so they cannot complete the evil they intend. And pull her up into Your arms to know the Love You created her for. Be her Shield and Fortress. Protect the boys also from being stolen from their homes and recruited into the evil purposes of terrorist forces. Give parents wisdom to know how to hide their children to keep them from Satan’s plots on their lives. Provide a way through loving Christians for children to be safe and grow up knowing Love instead of hatred.
