Do you struggle with feeling like you don’t measure up, especially when you’re around those who are strong in the Lord? Like your relationship with God is somehow inferior? Like the floor slants higher and closer to the throne for them, and meanwhile, you’re struggling just to have a quiet time?
I feel the Lord saying, “Come. Do not hold back. Come boldly. Hebrews 4:16. Do not compare yourself to others. Do not measure yourself higher or lower, for all are loved beyond measure by Me. YOU are loved beyond measure by Me. I have heights for you to climb to, depths of My love you have yet to see. There is so much more I want you to experience in Me. But first, come. Boldly. And humbly. Comparison is not humility, because your eyes are on yourself. You’re looking at others and whether or not you’re as good or as bad as they. Fix your eyes on Me, and climb. It is true that you will never measure up to My holiness, but oh, the joyous adventure of moving in that direction! Eyes off all else, My beloved. Grab hold of My hand, and climb.”

As an aside, from personal experience, I can share that my first steps in going deeper with the Lord are always repentance, for my sin often blocks me from His touch. And from this word today, if this is something you struggle with, laying down pride is a great place to start. I know it was for me. It took awhile for me to let Him point it all out and set me free, and I’m still finding more nooks and crannies that need His clean sweep, but oh, the joy of freedom! When the junk is removed, I can feel His presence with me, hear His voice … constantly.
