Father God, Lord of the Nations, we cry out to You. Please have mercy on the peoples of Afghanistan and on our nation for decisions made and lives sacrificed. Bring to justice those who have cared not for each precious life You created, but serve evil, selfish purposes instead. O Father, our world has fallen so far. We are like sheep without a shepherd, lost and in need of You. Come quickly to us, Lord. Wrap Your arms around those who are grieving now, and the thousands who fear for their lives. Let us feel You near and hear Your voice speaking truth that topples every lie and sets us free. For those still in hiding, shelter them, guide them, provide for their needs, give them clear instructions and open the way for them to make it to safety. For those in grave danger, surround them with Your angel armies, push back the enemy, and save them. For those making decisions, O Wisdom, please speak, even though they do not want to listen to You. Press through their walls of pride, and shout Your instructions. Pressure them into doing what is right and saving lives. And for those who will not make it out, O Father, have mercy, please. If they do not yet know You, come to them and show them who You are before their time is up. Shelter them within Your love, and tear down every wall that has kept them from You. Give them courage, at last, in the face of death, to choose the One who is Life. For those who do already know You, Lord, please empower them with Your Spirit to preach Your Good News, to sing to You loudly in the face of death, and to see You opening the doors of Heaven to usher them in. And for their persecutors, O God, we also ask You for mercy. For they need You more than life itself. Torment them in their dreams and show up in front of them throughout the day, so they cannot evade You. Invade their thought processes. Topple their lies with Truth. Strip them of the demons that control them. Destroy every evil stronghold. Break their hearts for the devastation and death they have caused. And bring them to their knees in repentance and surrender to You. O Father, by Your mercy, perform such awesome deeds in such miraculous ways they cannot deny that You alone are God. Sweep through that country in such a flood of Your love, felt presence and angel armies, You leave every last person in awe of You. Come, Father God, to Afghanistan. It is time now, for You to reach into all the enemy’s evil purposes and pull out Your good. We ask You for awakening, for revival fire to break out, for every heart to see You in all Your glory, and turn to You. In Your mercy, please, replace so much evil, violence, and death with Your love and grace. Pierce the darkness with Your light. Shatter it completely. Rise up and fight for the people You created, so we will know You and surrender to Your love.
