Help Us Stand, Lord

This morning, the Lord woke me up with this illustration urging us to not give up the fight.

Lord, give us courage to stand in Your mighty power. Ephesians 6:10-20. To not give up the fight. We need You, O God. Long has this battle raged. We call on You now to lift the cloud of darkness from over this nation, the world, and every heart. Raise up an army of prayer warriors who will fight together with us for the causes of Your heart. We need freedom from the darkness that is edging in closer and closer, and has already overtaken so many. We need eyes to see what is real. When we look with our human eyes, we miss too much. We need You, God, to overthrow the enemy, and overflow us with Your Spirit. To fill us with the fullness of Love. To give us compassion for those who are hurting. To give us courage to stand up and fight. And the way we fight is with our prayers. Our prayers DO matter. We can’t see what’s happening in the heavenly realms, but we know that You, God, are calling us now to pray. To stand up and cry out to the God that we love, the One who created us, and brought this nation into being for the very purpose of having freedom to worship You. We cry out to the One who built this nation on faith to now bring back that faith. Whatever hope has been lost, renew it now, Lord. Wherever faith has drowned in the midst of fear and violence and hatred and tragedy, renew our faith now, Lord. We need You. Rise up, O God, and show yourself Strong. Bring forth miracles and signs and wonders from Your hand to show all of us who You really are. Do not hide Yourself any longer. Rise up and be the God that You are in broad daylight for all to see. Pour out Your love like a flood, overflowing this whole nation and world, pushing out the evil and cleansing every heart, setting us free to worship the One we were created for. For we have lost ourselves in the midst of the mess. We have lost our purpose. We have forgotten the God we love. Remind us, Lord, quickly. Now. Only You can save us.
