With recent floods in China this week, Henan Province is reeling with devastation. Let’s pray for those who have lost loved ones.
China has jumped six places from last year’s World Watch List. Persecution has increased so dramatically, in fact, that in just three years, it has risen 26 places on Open Doors’ list of most dangerous countries for Christians to live.
Lord, we ask You now for those who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, and more because of recent floods. Great Comforter, please provide for those in need in such a way that they will know that You are the One who did that. Rise up and show Yourself strong on behalf of those who are hurting, not only because of this tragedy, but all throughout China. Give every man, woman and child such a hunger for You they will seek You with all their heart and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Get Bibles to those who need one. Speak to them in their dreams and all throughout the day. Provide the way for them to hear the Good News, receive You and be free. We pray those who have worshipped ancestors, Buddhism, Communism, money, or anything else will lay down their idols and choose the only One who is the Way, Truth, and Life, the only One who can save them. Bring Christians into their path to boldly love and minister to them. Raise up the church in this season of great tragedy and persecution to love like never before, to forgive their persecutors, pray for them, and share the Good News with them. Empower every believer to be a light in the darkness pointing all eyes to You. Give them courage to endure and overcome through Your love, even as those in the New Testament endured much persecution, even death, for Your name’s sake. Rescue those who are in danger. Make a way of escape for those who are imprisoned, trapped or pursued. In Your mighty power, perform signs and miracles as You have before in the face of those who persecute Your children in China. Give those bent on persecution such a powerful encounter with You, as Paul did, that they turn from evil to follow the God of Love. Break every chain, and open up the way for every person in China, and those who live abroad, to know the Living God and worship You. Please be a Shield around every church, pastor, and Christian. Hide them and their families from those who wish to do them harm, and empower them to boldly share Your love, leading millions to faith in You, who will then spread the Gospel all throughout China and beyond. Multiply the church in China, Lord of the Harvest. For every church that is raided and disbanded, plant 1o,000 new churches on fire for You. For every Christian who is persecuted, bring 10,000 more people to faith. In Your name we pray. Amen.
