Most strongholds feel so “normal” we don’t realize they’re there. Even when friends confront us on ways we’re hurting others, we deny we have a problem or blame someone else.
That’s because the enemy likes to guard the ways he controls us with lies like,
- “That’s just the way I am.”
- “This is just the way God made me.”
- “Everyone struggles with that.”
- “I’m not so bad.”
- “I’m not hurting anyone, so what does it matter?”
- “I need this.””I can’t help it!”
- “I guess this is just the cross I have to bear.”
- “I’ll never be free.”
There is no stronghold more powerful than Jesus. To believe anything else is just ridiculous! Jesus is standing right here right now, poised to set you free. Let Him!
Lord, please show us what lies we believe that have been guarding our strongholds and keeping us from walking in Your Spirit’s power. Demolish them with Your truth and set us free.
