Due to the current surge in both Covid and persecution of Christians, let’s pray for India, #10 on the 2021 World Watchlist of most dangerous countries for Christians.
Lord, please make a way where there seems to be no way for food and provisions to reach those in need. Make Yourself known to each of the nearly 1.4 billion people in this country affected by the pandemic. Comfort those who are hungry, sick, suffering, trapped, grieving, dying, lonely…. Draw near to each person and show them Your love. Give them a longing for You so strong they will search for You, even not yet knowing Your name, and find You. Visit them in their dreams. Show them the wonders of Your love and mercy. Tell them the story of Jesus and the price He paid to set them free. Break the chains of spirit worship, idolatry, pride, religion, prejudice and fear. Tear down every wall the enemy has built in people’s hearts against the knowledge of You and release them from the clutches of demons, so they will worship You alone. Father, we ask You, please, to grow Your church in India by the millions. Shield every Christian from persecution, harm, sickness, death, and evil. So many have been denied provisions because of their faith. But, Jesus, You are the One who multiplied the loaves and fish. Multiply food in their midst now, O God of Love, so abundantly they will preach Your Gospel with signs and miracles and wonders, as they share from their abundance with others. Anoint every Christian through Your Spirit’s power to heal the sick, comfort the broken, feed the hungry, raise the dead, speak Your truth in a way that all can easily understand, set the captives free, and lead every heart to You. Disciple every believer, strengthening their faith and growing them in the knowledge of Your Word and in passionate love for You. Empower them to love others through Your love so visibly the lost will be drawn to You and forsake all other gods to worship You alone. Open up avenues for pastors to share with those who are suffering. Hide them and their families from those who seek to do them harm. Provide for the widows and the orphans, and for the Christians helping them. Bring forth a Great Awakening in India. Turn persecutors and every person in government to You. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Get up in their face, invade their space, haunt their dreams, speak to them throughout the day, block evil plans, and give them wisdom from You to bless their country and every neighborhood, rather than causing harm. Give them courage to choose Your grace and salvation; then turn them around to make the way for Your Gospel to enter every community, so the unreached can at last find You and be saved. Raise up those who will translate Your Word into the many languages that still do not have it. May this be the year that millions in India lay down their idols and turn their allegiance to You.
